Country rock comes in many flavors. While the public thirst for minty, freshly showered hornyman doubletonk and cliches waxy as supermarket apple skin may never be slaked, plenty of grimier flavors remain popular. As ingredients are usually either unlabeled or illegible, country rock connoisseurs often determine the qualities of these flavors by tongue alone.

Masontown set to release debut Album

Denver, Colorado’s Masontown, is a new young band with an enchanting sound that emerged from the hotbed of the Colorado roots music scene. The band is releasing their debut album In This Time on Oct. 13, 2017. The new album features mostly original songs such as “Cambric Shirt,” “In This Time” and highlights the band's ability to shine on their individual instruments.

Trey & Mike close out Grand Point North

Trey Anastasio Band closed out Grace Potter’s Grand Point North festival in Burlington, Vermont last night. In years past, Potter has headlined both Saturday and Sunday night at the Festival. This year, Potter headlined Saturday night while turning over that spot to Trey Anastasio Band (TAB) on Sunday. (Grace performed a full set immediately before Trey.) This was the first show for TAB in Burlington since in October, 2011.

Rhonda Vincent Returns From International Tour

The International “Queen of Bluegrass” returns from a week of traveling abroad. Rhonda Vincent kept a jet-setting pace, flying from New York City to Dublin, Prague, and Zurich, before returning on Sunday.

The All American Bluegrass Girl, along with the Most Award Winning Band in Bluegrass Music History, “The Rage” performed amongst the breathtaking beauty of Prague, Czech Republic and Gstaad, Switzerland.

She returned this weekend to host Grand Point North, the annual mini-festival on the waterfront in Burlington, VT, that was started in 2011 when her calling card read Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.

Joe Satriani Announces New Album

World-renowned guitar virtuoso, Joe Satriani, announces the release of his 16th solo album, What Happens Next, set for release, January 12, 2018 on Sony/Legacy Recordings.  Just a day prior to the album release, SATRIANI revives his G3 tour entity, inviting Dream Theater’s John Petrucci and Def Leppard lead guitarist, Phil Collen to join him.  The G3 tour launches on January 11 in Seattle, WA and continues across the U.S.

Sound Summit 2017 | Review and Photos

A few thousand music-loving adventure-seekers on September 9 received quite the idyllic sun-splashed reward when they witnessed this year’s Sound Summit, headlined by Phil Lesh and some extra special “friends.” The eight-hour festival-like show, chock full of five performers plus an avant-garde dance ensemble, took place at a perch high above Marin County, California’s Mill Valley, at a hundred-year-old stone amphitheater near the top of the area’s famed Mt. Tamalpais.
